Fungal Targets Tested

Fungal targets are tested utilizing Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction or Real-time PCR.  PCR is a commonly used technique to amplify a targeted DNA region or sequence (e.g. gene) of interest Fungal DNA is isolated from specimens and highly specific, patented DNA probes are used to identify which species of mold is present in the environment.

The probes used in testing:

Glutathione Transferase (GSH) Deficiency Testing

Glutathione is the most significant free radical scavenger in the brain.  Utilizing Relative Quantitative Real-time PCR test, copy number for the GST M1 and T1 genes can be detected.   These genes are linked to susceptibility to a variety of chronic diseases. It is documented that low glutathione can be associated with bipolor disorder, Schizophrenia and connected to nitrogen nitrogen balance and wasting as seen in conditions as sepsis, burns, trauma, AIDS and cancer.
